The Archery GB British Junior Rankings have been published. Y7 Meredith has finished up 2nd Junior Under 12 Recurve and overall 25th out of all the age groups. Β Wow!!! Well done Meredith @TheQueensSchool
Congrats y7 Meredith who shot at the Northern Counties Indoor Championships last weekend and won the under 12 category with an impressive 493 out of 600 which was a huge PB for her of 30 points and has broken the club record at Cheshire County Bowmen.@TheQueensSchool
Thanks for keeping our archers safe in the sun!
We'll be following the sun safety code at the range as we head into the #heatwaveuk this weekend πβ±οΈ
A really important subject especially at the moment with temperatures rising so high. Please take the time to have a look at the sunguarding sport page for information on staying safe whilst enjoying archery this summer.. https://t.co/O6NxpmYI8O
Super proud of two of our juniors this weekend. Both shooting for the first time at the Junior National Outdoor Championships and both picking up 1st place for their respective age group and class.. well done to both of you πͺπͺ #archery#archerygb#jnoc
Well done to our member Derek taking third place in the mens compound on the weekend at Assheton Bowmens 1440.. very windy day so a great result to bring home a medal #archery
It is great to hear of pupilsβ success and Jack Morgan continues to shine on the archery range. Jack, who trains with Cheshire County Bowmen, has just set 6 county records at distances up to 70m. Even more remarkably he shoots with no βsightsβ. Incredible stuff Jack - well done!
Wonderful picture of team GB Paralympic squad at the opening ceremony in Tokyo. Good luck everyone and particularly to our club president John Stubbs MBE
A super day yesterday at our WA720 despite the weather and breezy conditions. Lovely to see so many familiar faces back on the shooting line. Thanks everyone for your support and for making it a great return to archery competition. #archery#competition
We still have some spaces left for our Single WA720 on the 4th July. A great way to get back to competition after the break. Any archery clubs please give this a RT and let anyone know who may be interested
Article in todayβs issue of the #chronicle. Thanking Marion Downward for her service as club president and welcoming in our new president John Stubbs MBE.
Did you know.. modern archers have 4 minutes to shoot 6 arrows each end during competition. In the battle of Agincourt a skilled archer would be expected to loose between 12 and 15 arrows per minute! πΉ
@stega1958@v1sharma Good question. Although likely sundials and candle clocks were used then but were not accurate to the minute I expect some kind of average has been assumed.. π
