I'm delighted to be able say that this budget has passed.
For the first time in 15 years, we're able to invest in our services and we're investing in what matters to you

Today, on Remembrance Sunday, we pay tribute to all those who fought and gave their lives to protect us.
We owe them such a tremendous debt. We will remember them.
A few weeks ago in Full Council, I was delighted to stand with other councillors and reaffirm the Council’s absolute commitment to supporting survivors of child sexual exploitation and abuse, and our determination to ensure justice for all those affected by these horrific crimes.
This week is Srebrenica memorial week which marks 30 years since the genocide in Srebrenica, where over 8,000 people were murdered due to hate.
We mourn their loss, and we remain committed to working with @SrebrenicaUK to ensure their memory lives on.
I was delighted to talk to @bbcmtd yesterday about our much loved @godivafestival.
The first day was absolutely fantastic and I'm looking forward to the rest of it. We've got some tremendous acts still to come, including many of our incredibly talented Godiva Calling Winners.
It was fantastic to ride the Coventry Very Light Rail today in the city for the first testing phase.
I want to thank all residents for joining us and sharing
our excitement for this groundbreaking project.
We look forward to the next stage of #CVLR
Over 15,000 people have been helped into employment by the Job Shop since it opened.
That's a lot! But how does it work?
Here's @CCCLeader and @KindySandhu to tell you more
The thoughts of Coventry are with our twin city of Graz as they deal with the aftermath of yesterday's horrific events.
Myself and @CovLordMayor have written to the city to express our deepest condolences.
I was very proud to attend the three Job Fests across the city last week. Hundreds of people came along to meet with employers and find job opportunities. Here’s a short clip from Wednesday’s Job Fest in Foleshill where I share my thoughts on the events
Devastating to see the fire at Henley College.
A huge thank you to the hardworking firefighters @WestMidsFire who have worked tirelessly overnight to tackle the blaze.
They are a credit to our city.
We're delighted to announce that a new children’s home has opened 🏘️
The home is aimed at providing ‘same-day, short-term’ care when help is needed at short notice, enabling siblings to remain together when possible or preventing children from being placed at a distance.

The six people we are honouring are wonderful examples of that dedication and I am delighted that they are being recognised.
Thank you to them all for everything they have done for our city. They are great Coventrians, and very worthy recipients of this great honour.
The Award of Merit is not awarded often, it is not an annual presentation, but only given when people have shown outstanding commitment to our city and those who live here.
We're delighted to announce the latest recipients of the Coventry Award of Merit 🎖️
Receiving the award are:
- Pauline Black OBE DL
- Professor Stuart Croft
- Sybil Hanson
- Councillor Abdul Salam Khan

Delighted to be a speaker on the panel @MidsConnect to discuss the benefits of a direct rail connection from Coventry to Leicester and Nottingham. The current east-west Midlands rail connections are substandard, holding us back from a more productive and sustainable future.
Fantastic news for the city 👏
Coventry continues to lead the green industrial revolution 🔋
Delivering Greenpower Park will not only create thousands of high quality jobs, it will also help build a greener, more sustainable future for Coventry and the UK.
I would like to wish everyone across our city a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
Your support was invaluable in 2024 and I look forward to working with you to make 2025 an incredible year for Coventry.
