@abbydealer Back in my early days in Halifax we got big bags of wings for free. From Sobey’s no less. The wing craze hadn’t started here yet and they just threw them out. <sfx> old man reminisces and shakes fist ineffectually
@CBCNS When COVID first hit, people asked for ‘quiet streets’ to give them somewhere to be active, given that parks were being closed. Montreal responded immediately. Our traffic department said they needed 6 months to study the idea. Translation: we don’t want to do it.
@CBCNS We built our city for cars, not for people, and now we’re suffering the consequences. A huge investment in better transit, light rail from Bedford, and lots of bike lanes would help. But our council remains car-centric and ultimately nothing will change.
@BikeMayorHfx My youngest started at uni Tuesday, lives on campus. His older brother goes to NSCC, travels by bus/ferry.
All my kids walked or biked to school from primary to grade 12. Unfortunately, our car-based infrastructure doesn’t make it safe for all kids to do that.
@bunsenbernerbmd@brittlestar Move Joe Louis down to inedible.
Move Crunchie from D to B
Kinder Eggs are awful. V. low quality chocolate. D for the egg, but move it to C for the toy

It was a beautiful spot, open to the southeast wind, got us cooled off nicely.
Then back home where the woods block the wind and the flag wasn’t even budging.
@alangdon17 Actually, I go to a coffee shop with no drive-thru specifically because it has no drive-thru. Inside service is far better when 90% of the staff isn’t working that one window while ignoring the counter.
@BikeMayorHfx Watch Not Just Bikes on YouTube. Ex-pat Canadian who has moved to the Netherlands and loves it so much he won’t move back. His videos show how to accommodate everyone. But yeah, we’re not the Netherlands, right? We don’t do that here. Always the same response, and no progress.
Rizzo and I leave Halifax each summer and we live at a family cottage in Ontario for 10 weeks. We’re in the 30,000 Islands part of Georgian Bay. This summer, we set a goal to visit 50 islands. We’re at 49 now. Here’s Rizzo, looking very majestic on No. 39
