😮💨 Dunno who needs to hear this but…
✈️ Seeing a lot of screenshots claiming ₹2, ₹3 or even ₹4 per point on Air India redemptions.
I think that's the wrong way to look at it.
📌 Just because a flight was selling for ₹1 lakh and you redeemed points for it doesn't automatically mean you extracted ₹1 lakh of value.
The real question is:
💭 "What would I have paid if points weren't an option?"
If an Indigo flight on the same route was available for ₹75,000 and that's what you would've booked, then your actual savings are much closer to ₹75,000 than ₹1 lakh.
Don't get me wrong — points can save a LOT of money.
But the best metric isn't "What was the airline charging?"
It's "How much cash stayed in my pocket?"
The rest is mostly there to make our brains feel good 😄
“100% SuperCoins back” usually means inflated prices.

Nobody asked, but I’m going to rant anyway. My take on this whole Accor x HSBC circus? Indifferent.
I didn’t transfer my points yesterday, and I probably won’t even if they dangle a bonus-unless it’s something absurd like 100% or something.
Not because Accor is bad. But I’ve always maintained: flexible, transferable currency beats points trapped in a single program. That goes for transfer bonuses, points-purchase promos, and even co-branded cards.
Points you can move to 20 partners are simply worth more than points that only work in one place. Flexibility means I can go where I want, when I want, how I want.
If you genuinely planned to use Accor and you transferred - fine. You lost nothing. If you transferred purely out of FOMO… yeah, that one’s on you. You’ll know better next time.
This is what you learn by actually redeeming and using points, not by blindly following the herd in a pointless * measuring contest.
