To sum it all up?
Covid is up.
Flu is here, 1 to 2 months ahead of schedule.
Fortunately, flu & covid vaccines (even for kids) are now available around the state. I've gotten my COVID shot & will get my flu shot ASAP.
Ramp up protections (masks, air filters) to avoid illness!
The wastewater picture continues to look grim.
COVID in wastewater remains elevated, at levels we experienced in last winter's COVID surge.
Most utilities are "Rising". 3 Utilities are now High (Aspen, Fort Collins, & Metro PRC). Most are Moderate.
EV-68 remains high.
@amethystarlight Careers that require Degrees that primarily women get tend to be paid less than careers that require degrees mostly men get. This is a way to keep girls out of college. Its disgusting.
โWe must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.โ

@LauraMiers I will add: it's easiest if you set it on wax paper or parchment or something though, to make clean up easier if it does get moldy. And if you dont think you'll use it all, put half in the freezer. Bread can be frozen awhile and be perfectly nice after.
@LauraMiers Not remotely trying to disagree with you, but that plastic bag is a big part of the problem. I find any nice bread I buy that I leave in the bag molds quickly, but lasts longer in a "bread box". Doesnt have to be fancy... got one at home goods. Bread lasts significantly longer.
Reviving this old chart, as it shows how things have changed, wastewater wise for COVID in the last week. The median had been at "600", which mean more than half of all reports were below detectable levels since March. That changed in the last week.
There is no Flu or RSV being detected yet in Wastewater, but Flu data is concerning.
We are seeing levels of Flu hospitalizations, positivity, and ED visits not seen in the last two years until late October.
It's not "high", but it is rising well ahead of our normal schedule.
To sum it all up:
COVID is now at Winter 2025 levels.
Flu is showing signs of an early rise.
EV-68 may explain non COVID, non-Flu respiratory illnesses.
Flu and COVID vaccines are now widely available.
Please consider all precautions to avoid spreading illness!
The wastewater picture looks worse than it has in months.
The COVID Median and Average are higher than they have been since late January.
All utilities (except Aurora) are "Rising".
3 Utilities are now High (Aspen, Durango, & Metro CC).
Most are now Moderate.
EV-68 is an enterovirus that usually causes a mild cold in most adults. It can be severe in infants or cause long-term issues.
The main reason I mention it is because if you're a little under the weather, it is not necessarily COVID, as EV-68 is circulating at very high levels.

The average COVID level is now about 25k, similar to the peak last winter (when COVID was competing with Flu and RSV).
It is lower than the August 2025 peak (which peaked at 68k, But it is higher than it has been all of 2026.
It's not the only thing circulating though.
