At Snellville Community Church, we believe our middle name says it all: Community.
This weekend, along with Skills N Harmony, we had the privilege of joining our incredible community partners Lenora Park Athletic Association and Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation, for the Back to School Jam.
It was a joy to welcome families, share smiles, and help distribute free school supplies and backpacks as students prepare for a brand-new school year that's just around the corner.
We are so grateful to serve alongside organizations that care deeply about the families in our community. Moments like these remind us that Snellville Community Church isn't just a place where we gather on Sundays, it's being committed to building relationships, loving, serving, and investing in our community every day.
To every student, parent, volunteer, and community partner who made this event so special, thank you! We are honored to be part of the Snellville community and excited for all that's ahead this school year.
There's a place for you at Snellville Community Church. ❤️

What are you carrying that doesn’t belong in your suitcase? 🎒
After leaving Egypt, God's people were learning how to live in the wilderness. As the nation grew, every disagreement, conflict, and decision landed on Moses' shoulders because he believed he had to solve every problem himself.
But Moses' father-in-law, Jethro, saw what Moses couldn't: the pace he was keeping would eventually wear him out.
Sometimes God places a Jethro in our lives—someone who sees we're exhausted when we've convinced ourselves we're fine. Through Jethro, God reminded Moses that even good things can become too many things, and He never intended one person to carry everything.
Just because you can carry it doesn't mean you're called to carry it.
Most of us don't overpack because we're irresponsible. We overpack because we care. We say "yes" because we want to help, serve, and make a difference. But over time, every unnecessary "yes" adds another weight to the journey.
So here's the question:
What are you carrying that doesn't belong in your suitcase?
Traveling light means having the wisdom to ask, "Did God ask me to carry this?"
When we release the burdens God never intended for us to bear, we make room to faithfully carry the ones He did.
Life gets lighter when we stop carrying more than God intended for the journey.

Freedom was never meant to be heavy.
It becomes heavy the moment we believe we have to add something to what Jesus has already done.
Paul recognized this and wrote to the churches in Galatia because they were beginning to believe that Jesus wasn't enough.
Instead of resting in God's grace, they picked up unnecessary baggage: rules, traditions, religious performance, and the constant pressure to prove themselves.
Paul understood that burden firsthand. Before Jesus transformed his life, he spent years trying to earn what God freely gives through grace.
The heaviest baggage isn't always what we've done. Sometimes it's believing we still have to earn what Jesus has already given.
Because Jesus is enough, you don't have to spend the rest of your life trying to be enough.
That's what true freedom looks like.
Freedom gives you room to love.
When you stop carrying the burden of proving yourself, your hands and heart are finally free to notice someone else's burden and share the grace you've already received.
Freedom isn't just freedom from guilt. It's freedom to love your neighbor as yourself.
The lighter your heart becomes, the freer your hands become.
Travel light. Don't carry what Jesus has already carried. Carry His love to someone else.

🎆 Freedom Gives Us Room to Love
As we celebrate Independence Day, we remember that our nation's earliest leaders recognized a truth that still matters today: true freedom begins with dependence on God.
The opening prayer of the First Continental Congress in 1774 declared: "O Lord our Heavenly Father, high and mighty King of kings, and Lord of lords...look down in mercy...on these our American States...desiring to be henceforth dependent only on Thee."
Before there was a Declaration of Independence, there was a declaration of dependence.
Through Christ, we have been set free from sin, fear, and the weight of trying to save ourselves. But that freedom was never meant to be used only for ourselves.
Freedom gives us room to love.
It gives us the freedom to forgive instead of holding grudges, to serve instead of seeking recognition, to welcome our neighbors, care for those in need, and boldly share the hope of Jesus. The freedom Christ gives doesn't lead us to selfishness; it leads us to love.
Today, we thank God for the blessings of our nation and pray for our leaders, our communities, and our churches.
May we never forget that our greatest hope is found in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who reigns over every nation and every generation.
As we gather with family and friends this 4th of July, may we celebrate with grateful hearts, live as people who have been set free by Christ, and use that freedom to love God and to love others.
"For you were called to be free...serve one another humbly in love." - Galatians 5:13
Happy Independence Day! God Bless America, and may God continue to bless Snellville Community Church, as we shine the light of Christ in our communities.

Travel Light means seeking God's Kingdom today and trusting God with tomorrow.
Worry focuses on outcomes. God's Kingdom focuses on obedience.
Worry lives in tomorrow. God's Kingdom calls us to live faithfully today.
Worry is carrying tomorrow's weight today, but God gives grace for today.
In Matthew 6, Jesus goes up the mountainside with His disciples, and a crowd gathers to hear Him teach. Many of those listening had no savings accounts, retirement plans, or safety nets. If they didn't work today, they might not eat tomorrow.
Yet Jesus tells them, "Do not worry about tomorrow."
He isn't saying tomorrow doesn't matter. He's saying worry should never rule your life.
Worry pulls us in two directions, trying to live in a future we cannot control. But when Jesus says, "Seek first the Kingdom of God," He calls us to reorder our priorities and make God's reign our primary pursuit.
Worry asks, "How do I secure my future?"
The Kingdom asks, "How do I faithfully follow God today?"
Travel Light means carrying today's responsibilities while trusting God with tomorrow's outcomes.
Whatever rules your heart determines whether you'll carry tomorrow, or trust God with it.

Harvest Network International kicked off its Annual Assembly yesterday on our campus, welcoming attendees from around the world!
Despite delayed flights, canceled connections, broken down planes, and even an unexpected night spent in airports, we are grateful that everyone arrived safely.
From inspiring workshops and meaningful fellowship to new friendships and shared ministry experiences, this week is already off to a wonderful start!
The mayor of Snellville even attended the opening worship service last night!

Happy Father's Day! Today, we celebrate fathers, grandfathers, mentors, coaches, and all the men who faithfully invest in the lives of others.
So often, they are the ones holding everyone else up. They provide strength, guidance, encouragement, and support when others need it most. They carry responsibilities that often go unseen and bear burdens that few others recognize.
But here's an important question: Who holds you up when your hands get heavy?
Even the strongest men need faithful friends. Even the wisest mentors need encouragement. Even the most dependable fathers and grandfathers need someone to come alongside them.
Today, we thank God for the men who have lifted us up, and we pray that they, too, would experience the strength, support, and friendship that God provides through His people, because God uses strong friends to help us carry what we were never meant to carry alone.
Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, coaches, and spiritual leaders among us.
Thank you for the difference you make every day. May you be reminded that when your hands grow heavy, you are not alone. God is with you, and He sends others to help carry the load.
#HappyFathersDay
Where is God when your hands get heavy?
For many fathers and grandfathers, life often feels like holding everyone else up. But who holds you up when your hands get heavy?
In Exodus 17, God’s people face their first battle after leaving Egypt. Moses stands on the hill with the staff of God in his hand while Joshua leads the battle in the valley.
As long as Moses keeps his hands raised, God’s people prevail. But when his hands begin to lower, the enemy gains ground.
When Moses’ hands grew heavy, God didn’t simply give him stronger hands. Instead, God provided Aaron and Hur.
They noticed Moses was struggling. They brought him a stone to sit on and stood beside him, one on each side. When Moses could no longer hold up his arms by himself, they held them up for him.
What a powerful reminder: God cares for us through the people He places around us.
Who’s got you?
Who are the Aarons and Hurs in your life?
Who notices when you're carrying more than you should?
Who checks on you when you're struggling?
Who can you call at 2 a.m.?
When you fall, who helps you get back up?
Maybe God wants to use you the way He used Aaron and Hur. Maybe the people supporting you right now are one of the ways God is caring for you.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is simply notice someone who is struggling and stand beside them.
Who’s got you?
Who is God using to hold you up?
And whose hands might God be asking you to hold up this week?

Last week, we explored how unexpected delays, changes, and interruptions can be more than inconveniences. They may be opportunities for God to redirect our path.
Instead of reacting immediately, we challenged ourselves to pause and ask:
"Could this interruption be part of God's direction for me?"
Then, before taking the next step, take a moment to pray.
This Sunday, our Summer Sermon Series continues as we discover how God uses faithful friends to help us carry burdens we were never meant to carry alone.
- Who's got you?
- Who is God using to hold you up?
- Whose hands might God be asking you to hold up this week?
Join us in person or online at 9:30 & 11:00 AM as we learn what it means to travel lighter together!
#TravelLight #TheresAPlaceForYou
Have you ever received information that changed the future you thought you had?
What feels like an interruption to you may be part of God’s direction for you.
Proverbs was written primarily by King Solomon who was known for asking God for wisdom.
He wasn't writing for perfect people but for ordinary people trying to navigate everyday life.
Solomon reminds God’s people that you make plans for the road, but the road doesn't always follow your plans.
God sees the whole road when we can only see the next turn and God wants to guide your steps.
You don't have to know everything. You don't have to control everything. You can trust the One who sees what you cannot.
You are responsible for your plans, but God is ultimately responsible for your direction.
Our plans are like a map and when the map changes, God is still present. God is still working. God is still leading.
When plans change, maybe the diagnosis wasn’t part of the plan: the relationship changed, the job ended, the retirement doesn’t look like you expected, the grief is lasting longer than you thought...
God invites us to travel light by releasing what we cannot control by trusting in God's direction and taking the next faithful step. Because what feels like an interruption may be God's direction.
This week, when an unexpected delay, change, or interruption occurs, pause before reacting and ask: “Could this interruption be part of God's direction for me?" Then take a moment to pray before deciding your next step.

Last week, we reflected on how when life gets loud, we don’t always recognize the burdens we’re carrying. In the midst of life’s shaking, we can easily miss what matters most: God is with us, holding us steady.
Join us this Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00 AM as we discover that when plans change, and what feels like an interruption in our lives, may actually be God's invitation to a new direction.
Our plans may look like a carefully drawn map, but when the route changes, God remains faithful. God is still present. God is still working. God is still leading.
We can't wait to worship with you this Sunday!
