It was such an honor to be part of a high level meeting discussing the Prison Bill in Malawi and consider ways of decongesting the prisons, address the food crisis in prison and generally the prison conditions. The Prison Bill is urgent and it has to be passed now!
Judge Agnes Patemba has given 14 days for State & defense to file their written submissions on preliminary issues raised by State in a matter where an adolescent child of 15-yrs-old is challenging his arrest & charges of defilement contrary to section 138(1) of the Penal Code.
