The creation, performance, & appreciation of music, serving as a catalyst for conscientious creativity through shared wisdom, expertise & diverse artistry.
The Composers Conference will expand to three weeks, running July 22 to August 13, 2023. Guest Composers will be Michelle Lou (WEEK 1) and Zeena Parkins (WEEK 2). Applications for the Composer, CPI, and Davidovsky Fellowships will open in late November 2022.
By way of this new partnership, the Conference is more than ever able to realize its core mission: To nurture the creation, performance, and appreciation of music, serving as a catalyst for conscientious creativity through shared wisdom, expertise, and diverse artistry.
In the end, we selected a cohort of composers we feel shows the broadest, most inclusive representation of new music being made today. Special thanks to our Guest Composers Ko and Dennehy for their thoughtful, carefully considered discussions throughout the entire process.
The Conference is delighted to announce our 2022 Fromm Foundation Composer Fellows: Livia Bottignole, Christopher Chandler, Stephen de Filippo, Luke Haaksma, June Young Will Kim, Chelsea Komschlies, Sepehr Pirasteh, Katrina Toner, Andrew Tholl, & Sarah Wald! Congratulations!
In the second round, applicants’ identities who moved forward were revealed. We then listened to all the work again, and read the answers to the short questions that were asked as part of our application process.
