But I find it odd that she is being held without bond for wounding horses.

But Karmelo Anthony who is accused of killing a young man made bond and was with his family in their new home.

LAS VEGAS HORSE STABBING CASE: JUDGE ORDERS TEEN HELD WITHOUT RELEASE
The 17-year-old accused of stabbing three horses during the NBHA Professional's Choice Vegas Super Show appeared before a judge today, and the court has ordered that she remain in custody without release.
According to sources, the judge determined the teen presents a public safety risk and should continue to be detained while the case moves forward.

What We Know So Far
-The suspect remains in juvenile custody.
-Prosecutors are seeking to have her tried as an adult, but that request has not yet been granted.
-A decision on whether the case will be transferred to adult court is expected next month.
-The teen is accused of stabbing three horses - Detail, Sully, and Rocket - during the event at South Point Arena. All three horses survived and are expected to physically recover, though owners have publicly described significant emotional trauma and recovery challenges.
-Authorities previously announced the suspect was booked on 12 counts involving animal maiming/torture allegations and 3 felony counts of malicious destruction of private property exceeding $5,000.
-Investigators believe a knife was used, and police located the suspect at a nearby hotel after the incident.

The Next Big Question
The next major hearing many in the horse industry will be watching is the adult-certification hearing.
Today's hearing was not about guilt or innocence.
Today's hearing was about detention.
The court's decision was to keep the suspect in custody and the judge cited public safety concerns. This signals that the case is being treated very seriously as it moves toward the next phase.

The question now:
Will this case be handled in juvenile court, or will it proceed in adult court? We will find out at the hearing on July 8th.

20 years, June 4th is my “alive day”. About this time of night I stood in the turret driving down a quiet canal road. Number 1 in a convoy, destined to hit an IED large enough the next truck got stuck in the hole. Lucky enough to not roll the brand new XM1151 up armor (with A/C!!) into the murky canal and drown in a similar way to how my cousin had died in the same country 3 years before.

Until this year I didn’t know the exact date, I couldn’t remember and I couldn’t find the Purple Heart citation with the date of injury on it. Found it a few weeks ago buried in a stack of other awards and hundreds of pages of documentation.

The 20th anniversary of getting dropped off of the litter and on to the tarmac at FOB Falcon before I got to ride in the Medevac bird to the 10th CSH in the green zone in Baghdad. Research since tells me it very well could have been the 159th Medical Company “Dustoff” (Air Ambulance) but I don’t know for sure.

God Bless the Medevac crews, aid station folks and Combat hospital staff.
