A cardiac arrest can happen anywhere. If you witness one, you must call 999 and start CPR straight away, remember:

Rate - 2 compressions per second
Depth - push 5 to 6cm down on the chest
Don't stop - until help arrives or the patient regains consciousness

A person receiving CPR within the first three to four minutes of being in cardiac arrest is crucial to maximising their chances of survival. It also reduces the risk of living with a brain injury if they do survive.
