As the @Piccolo_Spoleto Festival wraps up in Charleston, we wanted to share one more look at the beautiful 2021 poster with artwork created by Charleston Day School art teacher Kate Hooray Osmond, "A Song of Charleston." We love that our city celebrates the arts!
Beginning in Kindergarten, every CDS student receives art instruction weekly. Students express themselves through painting, drawing, sculpting, collage and printmaking inspired by such artists as Monet, Cezanne, Hiroshige, Picasso, Van Gogh & more. #whyilove#gatewaygiving
The eighth grade portrait is a cherished Charleston Day School tradition. Students collaborate on a large painting that is revealed at the last school assembly of the year. Each class portrait is hung in the school for years to come. #whyilove
Our First graders are using Charleston as their classroom by walking off-campus to learn and see more about people in the community that support them. They recently visited a local bank to learn more about what bankers do.
We are excited to announce Brigitte Morin is the recipient of the 2019 Excellence in Teaching Award. This award was established by a former CDS family as an avenue to recognize and show appreciation for faculty members. Congratulations, Brigitte!
