The purpose of this gathering is to examine the role of accountability in Afghanistan’s political future and its connection to the restoration of popular sovereignty, constitutional governance, human rights, national reconciliation, and sustainable peace. Participants will also discuss experiences of transitional justice in other countries, as well as ways to strengthen future truth-seeking processes and rebuild political legitimacy in Afghanistan.
