In what was a historic day at Mizzou Arena, @QuentinC_1 stole the show.

Here's new #Mizzou offensive coordinator Tavaras Hardy running through some Princeton offense drills in 2025.
Seems like we will likely see an emphasis on reading and reacting as well as off-ball cuts/movement from the Tigers offensively this year.

Fun connection here for #Mizzou
Hardy and Gates both came from the same star-studded Chicagoland HS Class of 1998 that featured six top-30 players nationally. Now set to combine forces on the same coaching staff in CoMo.
Safe to say I enjoyed quite a few MO-mints at the 2026 MSHSAA Show-Me Showdown this weekend.
Special thank you to everyone at @MSHSAAOrg and @CoMoSports for helping make my job much easier!
Also thanks to coaches and players who all answered my questions with better answers.
Principia defends its Class 3 title.
98-34 the final.
The Panthers shot 69.1% from the field, the fourth-best mark in Show-Me Showdown history.

QUENTIN. COLEMAN.
50 points in the Class 2 final, second most in a Show-Me Showdown game.
Most points in a single Show-Me Showdown (67) since Jayson Tatum in 2016 (68).

I sat through almost every presser for Class 1-3 girls the last two days and it was clear why they made the Show-Me Showdown.
So many great coaches jumped out both emotionally and technically, while their players provided insight and grace in incredibly emotional moments.
I'm live at Mizzou Arena as the second Class 1 semifinal is underway with St. Elizabeth (28-2) taking on Northeast (Cairo) (25-5). The winner will face Delta in the state title game. Follow along for score updates and highlights.

Two of the three leaders coming into the day lost, while Liberty was one match away from what would've been an unbelievable collapse.
Read about that and other drama from the final day of the 2026 MSHSAA Wrestling Championships here: https://t.co/OBixfs7ZvB
Onto the championships:
Liberty won two fifth-place tossups at 175 and 285, but Hickman was still able to trim the lead ever so slightly to 11.5.
Kewpies will need a lot of help in the finals to flip this one, as Liberty has an advantage in wrestlers going for a title (4-3).
@CoMoSports Hickman was as close as it could get to a state title.
Hayden won in a 4-2 decision, moving the team with 2.5 points.
Waldron couldn't match, losing in a heartbreaking 2-1 decision (video).
Liberty wins its seventh straight with a score of 161.5 to Hickman's 159.

31 hours spent in press row over the last 3 days! Had a great time helping to cover the 2026 MSHSAA Wrestling Championships for the Missourian.
Pushed through 30 repetitions of the Olympic theme song, red-green color blindness and a $7 hot dog, but it was very much worth it all.
