Innocent Fulani people are increasingly being targeted and, in some cases, unfairly labelled as bandits. This is a serious concern. Not every Fulani person is a bandit, many have also been forced to flee their homes and suffer the consequences of the actions of a criminal few.

Nigerians, particularly those in the South, should approach this issue with caution and avoid generalisations. Criminality has no tribe or ethnicity. If care is not taken, this situation could escalate into something far more dangerous and divisive for the country.
