tl;dr who has good website hosting/building recs? I could in theory run everything through GitHub and write my own HTML but I have two jobs and don't really want a third...

That conversation is not over. It did not go as I would have liked. But I knew I needed to have it, and as hard as the days that followed have been, I at least feel the peace of knowing I did the right thing for me and that I am equipped to handle the consequences.
