Binding interest arbitration has been the usual way for labour disruptions to be settled in the past when we have not been able to negotiate an agreement.” – J.P Hornick, OPSEU President and former chair of the CAAT-A bargaining team March, 2022
. @caatfaculty Get Strike Mandate - Ontario Colleges’ Offer Mediation-Interest Arbitration.
A strike of any kind is unnecessary. CEC has offered mediation-interest arbitration, a process that the Union has recognized as a common way to resolve the issues.

@contractprof Please ask your bargaining team what was provided on September 10. Hint: a breakdown of the costing. It’s simply inaccurate to state CEC has not backed up the more than $1B in annual new costs to pay for the demands.
Ontario Public Colleges are entering an era of fiscal instability. The CEC has asked the @CAATfaculty bargaining team to consider recent news and cuts to the College sector. Their proposals currently amount to more than $1 billion annually in changes. International student changes will have long-term effects that are currently estimated to lead to more than a $3 billion loss.
