[Raising Teenagers Uganda🇺🇬 @RaisingTeensUg2]

We are currently in a session led by @iankiko1 focusing on child marriage trends in Uganda.

The discussion is unpacking statistics, the different manifestations of child marriage within communities and how the issue has evolved over time.

We are also reflecting on the post-pandemic effects that have increased vulnerabilities for girls, including school dropouts and economic pressures on families.

Emerging risks are being highlighted, especially those driven by poverty, digital exposure and weakening protection systems.

The session is deepening our understanding of the urgency required in addressing child marriage through coordinated action, stronger policies and community engagement.

We continue to learn, reflect and strengthen our advocacy strategies to better protect every girl and accelerate progress toward ending child marriage.

We believe every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive free from harmful practices.
Our participation today contributes to strengthening the implementation of Uganda’s National Strategy to End Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy.

Ending child marriage requires collaboration, accountability and sustained investment in girls’ rights, education, protection and empowerment.
