He arrived in #Dubai by sea in 1965, before there was even a port ✈️

There was no immigration stamp back then. As part of the @UAEYearOf, we felt privileged to finally put a stamp in his passport to celebrate a legacy shaped by service, humility, and hope 💙

Now 90, Haji Jamaluddin still believes “education is the best weapon for enlightenment.” In 1984, he founded Crescent English High School, offering affordable education to thousands, because for him, giving back mattered more than making money.

We were honoured to welcome him and his students to @DXB and celebrate his legacy.

في سن التسعين، لا يزال الحاج جمال الدين يؤمن بأن "التعليم هو السلاح الأقوى للنور والمعرفة". وفي عام 1984، أسّس مدرسة الهلال الإنجليزية الخاصة، ليمنح آلاف الطلاب فرصة التعليم بتكلفة ميسّرة، لأن العطاء كان دوماً أولويته.

Amna Khalifa Al Qemzi, the UAE’s first female #farmer, started her journey decades ago when she sent nine baskets filled with various vegetables and fruits she cultivated in her own backyard to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president and the founding father of #UAE.

Recognising her passion and talent, the then #AbuDhabi ruler ordered that a #farm be given to her to continue her #agricultural endeavours.
