Very cool new paper by @PaulRiesthuis! check it out to see the current state of conducting (and reporting of) power analyses in eyewitness memory research!
Our last talk from our four talks session of #ZPLS 7 was given by Michael Geers, emphasing the need of systematically approaching consumers' engagement with online misinformation #zpls
For our last session of #ZPLS 7 we just started our round table discussion on counteracting misinformation: can it be done and how? Interested to hear from our guests
Gillian argued that the vast majority of deep fakes are nonconsensual pornographic deep fake images or videos, which lead to harms even if they are not believed to be true - but such harms are oftentimes overlooked in research!
Ciara Greene continues #ZPLS with interesting research on the effects of fake news on behavior! They found no evidence that a fake news story of spider eggs contaminating nuts had any effect on consumption of nuts later on!
In his #ZPLS keynote, @Sacha_Altay discusses some myths surrounding misinformation in the news! One alarming finding he shares is that interest in consuming news is going down - meaning that we rely more on pre-existing beliefs which are more likely to be biased!
We are very excited to share the program for Z-PLS 7. In this edition we zoom in on "Misinformation: Forms, Scope, & Prevention" 🧠
As always, ZPLS7 is completely free ✨Registration is now open - spots are limited. Link below to sign up (2)
🗓️See you on May 22nd, 3pm CEST!
#ZPLS is happening this Thursday! We are so excited 🤩 As always, we have a round table discussion planned next to our talks. This time, Stephan Lewandowsky, Frédéric Tomas & @cbucken will discuss "Counteracting Misinformation - can it be done, and how?" led by @HenryOtgaar ✨
Great presentation by @diandra for her seminar. Presenting her latest work in which she presents a scoping review on interviewing victims of traffic accidents @CELL_kuum
