House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told Geoff Bennett (@geoffrbennett) on Tuesday's PBS News Hour that Democrats are "focused on driving down the high cost of living" in the U.S.
He also criticized the president, saying that "Donald Trump lied to the American people" when he promised that costs would go down.
"Costs have gone up as a direct result of policies that Donald Trump and Republicans have put into place," including his tariffs and the war in the Middle East, Jeffries said.
