Last presentation of the day was by @martina_SLT and @Alipalipanju - talking about their amazing coproduced EPID tool. It was really interesting to see the coproductoon process and we can't wait to start using it when it's ready to go!
Karin Schamroth from @smiletweetsuk spoke next about using parent groups to strengthen the generalisation of #smiletherapy for #deaf children and young people. We love using SmiLE with our service users - such a functional and meaningful intervention 🤩
Before lunch we heard from Carl Dalton from @DeafTrust talk about how SLTs learn to specialise in Deafness, and the need for more EBP linked to language therapy and sign language. We are keen for further discussions exploring these topics!
Next up we have Liz Cullen from the RNENT hospital discussing how their parent groups can support the cochlear implant process and improve outcomes. @uclh#cochlearimplant#deaf
What an amazing morning so far at the @CENSEDeafness CEN day all about working with families. So far we have had three inspirational parent speakers sharing their journeys 🌟
We've had some wonderful parent speakers this morning - all sharing their different journeys of parenting a deaf child. We are so grateful for them taking the time to speak to us and sharing some suggestions for how we can improve SLT support in the future 💭🔮
Today's the day! Looking forward to our jam packed schedule of parents and professionals talking about their experiences and support. See you there in an hour! 💻📒🗣️🙌 @RCSLT#CEN#Deaf#SLT
