There's a huge difference and a time for everything.
It comes down to you.
You can either choose to be creative, or choose to be cautious.
The choice is yours.
βYou can be cautious or you can be creative, but there's no such thing as a cautious creative.β -- George Lois
The most successful people are those who are creative.
But creativity often comes with risks.
This is no different in sales.
Mixing habits conjured from caution doesn't mix well with ideas bred from creativity.
Similar to how marketing practices don't mix well with sales copy.
What we can provide is a way to practice, and eyes to look (guide) over your shoulders.
But before we can do this, you need to broaden your thinking. And open your mind.
If you want a way to start, head over to the manifesto.

And this is no different for LinkedIn and email outreach.
Even the great Benjamin Dennehy had to practice and fail dozens of times before he perfected his craft.
Now we're not saying that everyone has to fails thousands or even hundreds of times before finding their sweet spot.
You see, in sales, things change quickly. Answers vary.
We can tell you what works for others, but that doesn't mean it will work in your setting.
This depends on what you sell and whom you call on (sell to).
"The secret of life is to fall seven times and to get up eight times." β Paulo Coelho
You've probably heard great cold callers say, "I had to make a thousand calls, and fail over and over before I got good."
This is because effective communication takes practice.
Be brave enough to experiment with and test what you create.
Fear and comfort can only hold you back if you let it.
As painful as it may be, stepping out of your comfort zone can benefit you greatly.
Begin the journey today. Only you can control the outcome.
In sales, rejection and failure are similar to heartbreak.
The fear of failing and being rejected again holds you back from meeting your potential and ability to be successful.
Similarly, when dating, the fear of heartbreak restricts your ability to love properly.
Risking it means being willing to:
- throw away our prior beliefs, practices and habits.
- consider different ways forward.
- try and experiment new concepts/ideas.
- analyze and understand people and their behaviors.
- invent and come up with our own ideas.
Instead, aim to understand them and what triggers their behavior. Learn to peel back the layers. And as mentioned earlier, this requires you to challenge their thinking and engage in the difficult, uncomfortable conversations they often avoid.
With age comes experience. And with experience comes knowledge.
This is especially true for Senior BDR, Nicolas Hornyak who has years of experience in sales and business development.
On his birthday, he blessed our feed with this brief nugget of wisdom...
3οΈβ£ "You can't persuade people, but you can try to understand them. Always jump up for difficult conversations."
It's not realistic to think you can convince people to act. People act if and when they're ready. And for their own reasons.
