Johnny Knoxville mentioned this on Game Day, he ran into the girl from his high school who won Biggest Flirt superlative with him and they recreated the picture in Neyland
Oh YEAH, job well done by San Diego State!🔥
Pics & descriptions of their new “Age of the Jaguar” design, per their website:
“The uniform brings together SDSU’s signature red and black palette with a deeper story of strength, courage and identity. The look is anchored by a black helmet, featuring the Ocelotl glyph on one side and the player number on the other.
The Ocelotl mark connects the design to the jaguar’s historic symbolism: power, valor, and military prowess, and linked to health, grit, and perseverance. In Aztec tradition, Ocelotl represents Tezcatlipoca, god of the night sky, memory, and time. The jaguar also represents elite warriors who embodied discipline, bravery, and strength in battle.
“The Age of the Jaguar” extends the Glyphs iconography introduced last year, bringing that visual language from brand storytelling into the on-field uniform system. The Ocelotl glyph is the centerpiece of the helmet, while the custom sublimated artwork on the jersey sleeves and pant side panels carries the same sense of cultural texture throughout the full look.
Together, the uniform is designed to be bold from a distance and meaningful up close. It honors cultural symbolism, reflects San Diego State’s visual identity, and creates a modern on-field expression of confidence, strength, and competitive edge.”
Starting today, and on every future Saturday morning I want to take a moment to nominate the people behind the scenes in #ncaafootball who do an amazing job and don’t always get the credit they deserve.
Today we celebrate @Tyler_McEntire who we know has been very busy.
