They can all F*** Off! I hope he loses that Seahawks bid. I don't want them winning in life when our fans are suffering with no European football, high interest debt, and record 262M losses.
Every single one of the consortium members that own Chelsea has seen their net worth go up, while our club is stuck paying high interest debt. They treat our history like a financial experiment. They constantly lie to the global fan base with calculated PR, while treating the match going fans like exploited customers. Absolute disgrace! I never want them winning in life until our club is treated with respect!
Longest match at any major featuring a final-set tiebreak: Juan Manuel Cerúndolo def. Martín Landaluce 5 hours 58 minutes in the third round (also the third-longest match in French Open history).
I've said it before and I will say it again. The clay court season is the best season in the tennis calendar.
This Roland Garros didn't disappoint. Although Carlos withdrew early doors and everyone assumed Sinner would win it easily (myself included), it was highly competitive and thoroughly entertaining. Long rallies, long matches, heat, patience and upsets encompasses what Roland Garros is all about. "Victory belongs to the most tenacious".
This victory wasn't about who was the most tenacious during this tournament alone, however, it was about who has been the most tenacious, patient and resilient over the past 13 years.
Alexandra Zverev thoroughly deserved this title, not just because he was the best player in this tournament, but because he has been an excellent professional on the circuit over the last decade. I don't believe this will be his last either. He will be a hard man to stop when they head over to the grass courts (more on this later).
Some fun facts about this last RG (mens):
20 men’s singles matches lasting 4 hours or more after only three rounds — the highest number since reliable match-time tracking began in 1999 (previous record: 17 for an entire tournament at the Australian Open in 2009 and 2024).
I don’t like the player, but my personal disgust at him is irrelevant.
Alonso has apparently authorized the sale of his two most experienced starters. Unfortunately for him, the replacements have already arrived from Strasbourg.
It’s a sell-to-survive death spiral.
Reason I don't write about Michael Olise yet is that it would need to be my best article ever and I can't tolerate anything that's not close to perfection
Blueco still in denial, but I’m seeing a worrying trend that no one is interested in buying their assets.
It’s one thing to hoard young players to flip, but it’s another to give them the right development to increase their valuations.
This project is screwed at so many levels.
