🚨 Xabi Alonso has reportedly told Chelsea to hold off on making any final decisions on the futures of Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, Trevoh Chalobah and Mamadou Sarr until he gets the chance to assess them himself during pre-season. 🔵
Despite interest in all four players, Alonso wants a closer look before any departures are approved.
The Spaniard is already having a major say in Chelsea's squad planning ahead of his official arrival on July 1 and is keen to judge players firsthand rather than relying solely on reports or previous opinions.
It's understood Alonso wants all four given the opportunity to prove they can be part of his plans before any final calls are made.
A fresh start. A clean slate.
If you were Alonso, which of these four would you definitely keep at Chelsea next season? 👀👇

Chelsea are prepared to sell Enzo Fernandez if a club agrees to meet their £120m price tag.
One of the strikers, not including Joao Pedro, will be sold.
Liam Delap is a real contender to be the one who goes. There is more than one Premier League club keen to buy him.
Nicolas Jackson is another possibility, although he could get another chance at Chelsea now that Enzo Maresca is no longer head coach. Marc Guiu is expected to depart on loan or permanently.
Defender Trevoh Chalobah is already the subject of enquiries from clubs in England and abroad.
He is highly regarded at Chelsea, and they are in no rush to sell him.
He has two years left on his contract, but there is an option for an extra year.
Goalkeeper Mike Penders, who spent last season on loan at Strasbourg, is going to be given the chance to compete with first-choice Robert Sanchez.

‼️ In light of the impossibility of signing Michael Olise, Real Madrid have redirected their efforts to signing Enzo Fernandez, to fulfill Mourinho's wish. Jose Mourinho wants the Chelsea midfielder at Real Madrid.

‼️ Xabi Alonso is only going to want to work with players who have a genuine future at Chelsea. Those who do not can expect to work away from the main group, as has been the case in previous summer windows.

‼️ Nicolas Jackson has a chance of staying at Chelsea because of his ability to play on the left as well as down the middle. Delap has interest from Premier League clubs.

One thing you will get from Valentin Barco every game is total commitment. He's such a willing worker at a young age. He's a little warrior.
He reminds me of Joâo Neves. Not comparing their technical ability or anything like that but their size, willingness to run, press and close players down out of possession.
🗣 Frank Leboeuf: "When it's about the field, Xabi Alonso should be the only one in charge, and hopefully they're gonna understand that.
I'm very pleased that they picked Xabi Alonso. Congratulations to them, good call, I'm pretty sure Xabi Alonso will do very well if he has the control."
Micah Richards: "I think he [Rosenior] had to do it [sanction Fernandez]. With all the pressure Liam Rosenior has been under recently, the players coming out and speaking like that makes you look weak if you don’t respond.
I would have left him out of the next game which was Port Vale – but I wouldn’t have done two games. That way it looks like he’s punished him but he’s still back for that Man City game.
You’re going to need him against them because he’s one of your best players. But I do think Rosenior had to say something."

🚨 | BREAKING: Liam Rosenior has publicly called for a radical shift in #Chelsea’s transfer strategy, demanding emotional stability and proven winners instead of more teenage recruits.
After four consecutive defeats exposed the squad’s fragility under pressure, Rosenior told Sky Sports he needs signings with experience, leadership, and the character to steady difficult moments, a direct break from the BlueCo youth-first model that has defined Chelsea’s spending since 2022.
This is the first time a #Chelsea manager under the current ownership has openly challenged the recruitment philosophy in such direct terms. The club appear to be listening, with targets like Lamine Camara, Morgan Rogers, and Arda Güler reflecting a shift toward players who can impact the squad immediately rather than in three years’ time. #CFC
