✍️ Chelsea's player turnover has its advantages. We are never short of assets to sell and raise money to improve the squad every summer.

Last summer, we sold players and earned more than £300m. This summer is shaping up to be the same. We are making net profits every summer. Not many clubs can do that.

We don't get enough credit for that. Of course, what makes it easier are the low wages. We complain that we aren't paying top clubs' wages, but it has its disadvantages as well. Imagine if Garnacho is on £200m or more at Chelsea; that brother could refuse to move if no club is willing to pay him more.

Low wages mean that when a player comes in and doesn't show signs of reaching the level required, he will be out the door after one season. He will not be short of suitors, simply because his wages are affordable. Big wages scare clubs more than big fees, which can be amortised.

And we rarely sell below the purchase price, unless we have recovered a sizeable fee from loan deals like in Disasi's case. Sterling's case is different as he was bought when we didn't have a wage structure as a result, he was difficult to sell.

Advantage of low wages is that you miss out on some big deals for big players, while the disadvantage is that if a big deal for a big player goes wrong, you are f*cked. You won't be able to move the player.

For Chelsea and our modest revenue generation stream, we can't afford to carry players that are of no use to us. They are better gone, to raise money for new players.

That's basically the game.
