Chelsea's internal figures suggest they spent £328m on improving the squad and made £519m worth of players sales (with loan fees) - a global record.

That's a net profit of £120m while retaining the sixth most valuable squad in the world.

They hint at reinvestment in transfer windows to come having had a window that improves their financial picture and engineering a better squad for Xabi Alonso.

Of course, we don't have a breakdown of how the figures are reached and many of the loan fees are undisclosed but known to be sizeable in some cases.

🚨 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗜��𝗘𝗗: The most ridiculous deadline day transfer saga explained in a single post. 🤯

This was genuinely unbelievable…

🔸 AS Monaco needed to make a sale to help resolve a debt issue and free up a non-EU squad spot to sign Mexican midfielder Erik Lira.

🔸 Monaco agreed a deal to sell Folarin Balogun to Everton, but problems and doubts emerged during his medical and the transfer stalled.

🔸 Chelsea then sensed an opportunity. With Enzo Fernández heading to Manchester City, they went all-in for Lamine Camara as his replacement and reached an agreement with Monaco.

🔸 Everton, meanwhile, turned to Joshua Zirkzee after the Balogun problems — but Manchester United refused to let him leave.

🔸 With the deadline approaching, Everton returned for Balogun and attempted to renegotiate the deal on cheaper terms.

🔸 Monaco preferred selling Balogun rather than Camara, so they PULLED THE PLUG on Camara’s move to Chelsea.

🔸 Chelsea could have responded by cancelling Enzo Fernández’s move to Manchester City. Instead, they honoured their agreement and allowed Enzo to leave — despite suddenly having no replacement.

🔸 And then came the final twist… Balogun decided NOT to join Everton following the medical and negotiation drama, leaving the training centre without signing. 😭

So after ALL of that…

🔸 Monaco kept BOTH Balogun and Camara, failed to raise the money they wanted and didn’t free up the non-EU spot needed for Erik Lira.

🔸 Erik Lira therefore DIDN’T join Monaco.

🔸 Chelsea lost Enzo Fernández for a Premier League-record fee AND missed out on his planned replacement, Camara.

🔸 Everton missed out on BOTH Balogun and Zirkzee. Having already sold Beto to Fiorentina, Thierno Barry is now their only recognised centre-forward.

Deadline Day. DON’T EVEN TRY TO MAKE SENSE OF IT. 🤯😭

🚨🧨 Inside story on Lamine Camara's failed Chelsea transfer:

After Monaco discovered issues with Folarin Balogun's Everton medical, they called Chelsea to give the green light to Lamine Camara. Then during Lamine's Chelsea medical, Monaco got a call from Everton saying they would proceed with Balogun.

Monaco then called Chelsea and said, 'Sorry, Lamine Camara is no longer coming.' Chelsea were furious and tried to make it work. Until tonight they had a good relationship, and Chelsea were sure Monaco would not create a problem, but they decided to call it off.

The relationship between Chelsea and Monaco is COMPLETELY BROKEN! 💥

Enzo Fernandez's farewell message to Chelsea supporters.

Dear Chelsea,

I want you to know that these have not been easy days for me. Writing this is not easy either. The truth is, I haven’t been in a good place.

Three years ago, Cobham and Stamford Bridge became home for me and my family. I grew attached to the people, to the shirt, and to the badge of this incredible club.

Believe me when I say that, from the moment I arrived, I became obsessed with winning and with bringing this club every trophy that its history deserves. We suffered, we cried, I got angry many times, but we also celebrated titles and unforgettable victories. Together, through the good times and the difficult ones.

I live football the same way I live my life: with passion and with all my heart. That is why I want you to know that I understand you. I truly understand you, from the bottom of my heart.

But life is about making decisions, and right now I find myself having to make one of those difficult decisions. I’ve said it before, but I want to say it again: I have grown incredibly fond of this club. Chelsea will always have a place in my thoughts and, above all, in my heart.

But I also understand how football works. I know how passionate you are, because I am the same. And if I were in your position, I would probably be thinking the same way.

I want to thank every single one of you: the staff, the coaching team, the medical team, the physios, and everyone who works at Cobham and throughout this great institution.

To all my teammates over these years, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing so many moments with me. I was truly happy here, and I wish you nothing but the very best for the future.

Thank you for all the love and support you have given me and my family throughout these years. I will never forget it.
