@whitewall618431 I remember at 8 years old being in the North Stand with my dad April 1960 for Peter Bonetti’s debut. I recall supporters stamping their feet on the wooden boards! Scary, but a brilliant view from up there. We won 3-0.

@ChrisMears1 Semi-final 1966 Sheffield Wednesday. I was there for a painful 0-1 loss in at a muddy Villa Park. We were drawn as the “home” team. Weds wore their away white. The Doc and the players chose blue & black not our home blue because they admired the then European Cup holders.

@whitewall618431 Tony Potrac was a Pimlico boy. Played against him in Chelsea primary schools cup final 1963 Marlborough v St.Joseph’s. Played against Alan Hudson the year before in the final, he scored 5 goals!

@90sfootball @stamford_bridge I was behind that goal on the North Bank Highbury. I can still see it from there in my mind’s eye. One of the best goals I’ve ever witnessed from one of Chelsea’s best ever. I still have that away shirt. Happy days!

@1JamesCHELSEA @Real_KerryDixon I got a corporate invite to the posh seats from Spurs fans who were cocky (excuse the pun) before the match. Instinctly jumped up when Kerry scored with about 50 other Blues hidden in that stand - we gave each other a shout and sat down quickly fearful of being chucked out!

@Neiltruechels @ChelseaFC TBH, not how I recall it. We were in deep financial trouble and Ray was captain. An attacking midfielder unlike the “crab” he became at Utd. There’s some comparison but Ray’s transfer was worse. A horrible sinking pain of relegation & losing our captain. But we got on with it.

@BygoneChelsea Half our school bunked off for the game. Apparently so many kids were sick that afternoon in SW London, the authorities thought there was some serious bug happening! The celebrations in The Shed when we won it in the last minutes were brilliant. Happy days!

@BygoneChelsea I sat in the old east stand with my dad. I can remember a very young Ron Harris getting stuck into Stanley Matthews. We lost, but thumped Pompey 7-0 a week or so later to win promotion on goal average over Sunderland. Stoke went up as 2nd division champions. Happy days!

@gate17marco @CFCnews Yep, we would grab a table on the away day special train for cards. Within an hour lots of silver and ten bob notes would pay for our away day! We could also buy half price train tickets for most of the grown up blokes on the train, who’d slip us a few bob for the favour.
