I'm Matthew Lawing and I am the music teacher at Colham Ferry Elementary School. This is year number 14 for me and I love all things from Bach to Rock!
We 💙 learning to play instruments in @cfesmusic ! K students learn to keep a steady beat with hand drums, 3rd grade is learning to play the ukulele, and our preschool students enjoy exploring different instruments and sounds!
Happy School Counselor Week to Mrs. Lee! She does so much for our Mustangs, and we are so thankful for the joy, love, and support she brings to our staff and students each day! 💙

Why do we call CFES, “The Gem of Watkinsville”? COMMUNITY! It’s COLOR week for our K Ss. Not only did our Ts join the fun, but our older Ss asked if they could participate and help our K mustangs learn their colors! Today the school is a sea of yellow! 💛#NotSoHiddenGem
With our 5th grade lesson today we took a closer look at two Chinese instruments and their culture. We also did a guided lesson on how to write “I am,” in Chinese. Then I asked them to finish that sentence “I am…,” and they wrote some beautiful responses.
