It’s #EdRobertsDay! We honor Ed Roberts, a key organizer of the independent living movement. As vital disability services face cuts, we will advocate for an accessible, disability-inclusive future. Our lives are not budget line items. Tell us your #DisabilityIsStrength story!
Members of the LTSS4All (Long-Term Services and Supports for All) Grassroots Coalition met with Asm. @maggykrell's office to discuss preserving Medi-Cal funding. Programs like In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and Medi-Cal are critical for disabled Californians. #CareNotCuts
Yesterday, we joined @seiucalifornia & orgs to push back against Gov. Newsom’s budget that reduces the budget for health and human services for Californians. CFILC is committed to protecting the funding for critical programs supporting the disability community and older adults.
We are hiring! CFILC is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and values-driven Executive Director to lead a statewide movement grounded in the Independent Living philosophy — where people with disabilities define and lead the change they seek. Job posting: https://t.co/RX3BcYdFAq
Medicaid provides essential health care to more than 15 million Californians. Federal Medicaid funds help pay for programs like regional center services, IHSS, CCS, and special education services. Cuts to Medicaid would affect all of these programs and more.
Congress is proposing cuts to Medicaid at the federal level, but they are not final yet! We must PROTECT MEDICAID to protect our community's access to healthcare. Much like our health, Medicaid and the programs that share funding are all tied together.

Today, we joined @RILSacramento & @DisabilityCA for a town hall with @DorisMatsui on the importance of federal Medicaid (Medi-Cal in CA) funding. Joe Wilson of RIL said that without Medi-Cal, he'd be in a medical institution, unable to work & live independently. #WeLoveMedicaid

CFILC stands firmly against the politicization of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility. Wednesday evening's air traffic accident is a tragedy, but our disability community refuses to be made a scapegoat. Read our full statement here: https://t.co/yetDBuMVlF
