@ppmcderm@dbessner been irreparable damage 2R planet, as well as the immoral wealth gap that exists 2day. 4 those in the back - THIS IS NOT SUSTAINABLE. There will B no change in this trend in the 4seeable future. We R past the tipping point of global warming & can only plan 4 harm reduction. 2/2
@ppmcderm@dbessner "Those w/the most toys win" is definitely still a cultural mindset, 1 that has purposely pushed capitalistic consumerism 2 it's current ultra-exorbitant level, creating tons of million & billionaires world-wide. The side effects of this mindset's ... 1/2
@benigma2017 Mic drop! 🎤 SHE'S BEEN VP 3.5 YRS - WHAT'S SHE DONE 2 HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?? Oh right, they took on Big Pharma & "won" by setting a price cap on insulin 4 seniors. However, left out were many more who R struggle w/exorbitant drug prices & have 2 choose 2 eat or take meds.
Interesting take on @BernieSanders. I vacillate between feeling incredible anger & disappointment, & giving him some grace & understanding that he knows what we don't, & was forced 2 choose between the loss of his entire political career & continuing 2 have a voice 4 The People.
I don't see Bernie that way at all. I see him as a classical tragic figure. He was without question the most powerful presidential campaigner I have seen in my 70 years, -- the Kennedys not excepted! -- and he would no doubt have made the best POTUS, at least since FDR, had he been allowed to win a Dem nomination. I would also never impugn his political motives.
But Bernie simply didn't have the courage and stalwart fortitude to stand up to the DNC-mafia, then ruled by Queen Hillary, which must have made one dire threat after another, both in 2016 and 2020. In terms of the classical drama, Bernie was brought down by his hamartia, a missing ability to stand up for himself even in the face of mortal threats from people who have demonstrated repeatedly that they are quite willing to murder their opponents.
@SabbySabs2 I'm staying home.
Genocide is my red line.
And both parties answer to their masters in Tel Aviv.
What's the use of voting when the horrific ethnic cleansing continues with the blessing of our corrupt institutions?
There is now a debate online about the offensiveness of Arabs who are put off by the Star of David. Those claiming that this attitude is based in bigotry are gaslighting all of us.
A settler country has prominently displayed the Star of David on its flag, its fighter jets, its tanks, its soldiers uniforms.
Its fighters leave Star of David graffiti alongside racist hateful messages on the homes they desecrate, trash, steal and demolish.
Israeli settlers have literally burned the Star of David into the skin of their victims.
It’s not bigotry behind the increased horror at this symbol, it’s fear.
Arabs are scared of it bc the people who use it the most are literally burning Arab children and then taunting them under the banner of the Star of David.
If this dynamic upsets you, take it up with Zionists whose most cherished symbol is essentially the Star of David.
It’s also not lost on me that people are more offended by Arab fear and even disdain for a symbol that has come to symbolize hate and genocide against their people than they are at the literal burning of children every single day by the terrorist state of Israel.
I love you @RalphNader. You always tell it how it is with absolutely no bullshit. You are correct in what you say here, the only thing I respectfully disagree with is the Democratic party changing if they get beat. I don't see that happening anytime soon because they're addicted to the corporate money that flows throughout the party. This has been going on for at least the last 35 years once Third Way/DLC weaseled it's way in via the Clinton's and Bill's 1992 Presidential campaign. The one person who was capable of finally finishing off Third Way/DLC was Bernie Sanders in both 2016 & 2020 but sadly in both elections the slimy apparatus of the DNC vanquished any hope of a victory as they colluded with other candidates who went on to claim the mantle of nominee of the Democratic party.
I, like millions of others, lost all hope in purging the corporatism from the party. It is here to stay. The only thing we can do going forward is starting a new party that shares the common values of which we seek to one day implement.
