Front page @TheNewportDaily Newport Council supports Assault Weapons Ban "I'm tired of the thoughts and prayers. It's time for action by councils, by state legislators, our Congress in Washington, to adopt common sense gun laws.” - Councilwoman Napalitano @RIHouseofReps@RISenate

Common-sense gun legislation in Rhode Island is one step closer to becoming a reality. I look forward to these bills coming to my desk to sign into law. Our children’s safety and future must be our top priority.
Thank you @CindyCoyneRI: “High-capacity magazines have no legitimate purpose for hunting or self-defense. They put the public, law enforcement officers and the user in greater harm.” @CGVPRI

BREAKING: After sitting in the Rhode Island statehouse today for over 14 hours, @MomsDemand saw the passage of three bills they’ve been working on for a decade: raising the age to buy ammo and guns to 21, prohibiting open carry, and limiting high capacity magazines. #ripolitics
Senator @CindyCoyneRI says 10 round limit is not arbitrary. It was the law of the land from 1994 to 2004. Ten states have high capacity magazine limits, most at 10 rounds. She says it has become "de facto standard" for the industry and manufacturers could readily comply.
It is getting better today. The HR passed legislation to increase age to 21 before to having access to weapons. Kudos to Rep Tanzi after many years of hard work. https://t.co/4blJd7kBEu
