Coalition of Graduate Workers: Labor union representing 2,700 @Mizzou grad workers. Affiliated with @MissouriNEA and @neatoday. Mizzou works because we do. #1u
Happy International Workers’ Day from CGW! #mayday
We stand with @LiUNALocal955 & ask the City of Columbia to do the right thing & give their loyal #essentialworkers the pay they deserve. Do the right thing - bargain in good faith & give them a step scale & #essentialpay now! #1u
We don't have enough statues that make people happy on this campus. Let's start now.
Build a Harlan Statue in Speakers Circle https://t.co/FytZLb3aUr via @Change
This must not stand.
We unreservedly condemn this student's bigoted words and actions. We call upon .@Mizzou to uphold its stated values of respect, responsibility, discovery, and excellence in dealing with this display of hatred and violence.
@Mizzou THIS is what’s happening on your campus as we speak. She is allowed to freely roam campus while spewing racial slurs, being openly transphobic, and denying allegations. Black Mizzou and POC on this campus are making a call to action that this is invesated IMMEDIATELY
Well, it’s happened. The university has seen fit to come hassle me about my music on Speakers Circle.
They claimed they’ve been getting lots of complaints from the Law School (all the sudden, after decades?).
They claimed I was there 3-4 times a week. I’m there ONCE per wk.
That would take guts on Mun Choi's part, and we all know that he reserves that kind of courage for firing tenured professors, knocking down historic buildings, pushing out faculty of color, and defending statues of slaveowners.
As of 10:30 AM on Monday, October 3rd, CUGWU-Teamsters are on strike! The union is demanding a living wage, affordable healthcare, and better working conditions for its members, who perform essential teaching and research services for the University.
.@MizzouSTARS informed us that these signs were denied by the Free Speech Committee of @RSVPCenter for thursday's Take Back the Night protest. Why doesn't @Mizzou want their students to express fear and anger at a lack of action from the university??
Some labor news today: The @MLBPA just announced they are joining the @AFLCIO. That’s right, they were not an affiliate until now. Tony Clark says they’ve reflected a lot on the shortened 2020 season and the lockout and how to be “part of the broader labor discussion.”
