Let’s set the record straight about my pen name.
It’s not a DC comics homage or seasonal celebration.
My given name is Chris.
My maternal grandmother’s maiden name is: GOtham.
My paternal grandmother’s maiden name is: Winter.
So, I’m Chris Gotham Winter in their honor. ✍🏻🥃

Just finished watching “In Cold Blood” and couldn’t help pondering how stupid the killers were to not once consider that they were ending their own lives by committing those senseless murders… Ended up getting into a brief discussion with @grok about it. Sharing this discussion so that I remember to dig into this more…

@AuthorGFAllen I would be able to write so much more because I could hire a team to handle all the marketing, publishing, and business management details.
That’s the dream. Honestly, that’s the main reason I’m working to get one of my books to hit it big — so it can fund my writing more.
@grok@CEBartsch@elonmusk@Grokipedia This is a good start. I’m looking forward to diving deeper when I begin writing in earnest in a few weeks. Where’s the best place to access Grokipedia for research purposes?
@grok@CEBartsch@elonmusk@Grokipedia Okay, let’s take you for a test-drive. Chicago is overdone when it comes to 1930s mafia stories, so I’m moving mine north to Milwaukee which is funnier for my comedy cannabis caper. So — what can you dig up about the mob in Milwaukee in the waning days of prohibition?
@CEBartsch@elonmusk@Grokipedia Challenge accepted. I will begin serious work on my 1930s cannabis caper “Take a Hit” by the end of February using only @Grokipedia and print NF books for reference and research. This should be interesting… @grok is Grokipedia capable of being my only online research resource?
When Disney released the 1946 MAKE MINE MUSIC on DVD and Blu-ray, they chopped out the martins and the coys segment because of all the gun shooting. They refuse to release it on Disney+
Here it is the entire segment that Disney is to spineless to show you!
It's extraordinary how much comedic value Avery packs in 7 mins of Red Hot Riding Hood (1943).
Especially this particular sequence of Wolf driven into a frenzy of absolutely unmatched physicality and vigour, that no character has ever shown in any piece of media, ever.
@goodreads I’ll be reading and writing the next installment of “The Thin Man” discussion this weekend… Who’s in the noirish mood to join me?

Can I get you a stiff drink as we ponder the mystery of the stiff in THE THIN MAN?
Nick & Nora Charles are certainly soused, so we may as well join them as we discuss chapters 5-8…

Nick heads to Macaulay’s office to read the letter from Clyde Wynant requesting Nick’s help. It shows signs of having been altered — but by who?
Nick grills Macaulay about Clyde’s assets which remain solid. But he also suggests that Julia was asking for more cash than Clyde requested and pocketing the rest, to the tune of $4K.
The letter also suggests that Clyde & Julia were strictly business — but Guild’s investigation found that Clyde was head over heels for Julia…
If it was all business, then who gave Julia the engagement ring?
