For 16 of 17 years from 2006-2022, the SEC appeared in the title game. Now, as the playoff expanded, this is 3 straight years w/o an SEC team playing for the title.
Maybe we were getting it wrong all those years of 2- and 4-team playoffs assuming the SEC always belonged there.
