The turbine sailing boat appears to do the thing, but not as effectively as hoped. It might simply be too small, and transmission losses account for a lot of the inefficiency

The DIY sail worked pretty well! And all the other repairs. For next time must get the non cheap rope... Until then all the skin on my hands will just have to regrow
