A wife, mother of three, one who has a congenital heart defect, CHD advocate. Trying to fulfill all these roles through grace and for the glory of Christ.
Do you know what to do in an emergency? This 2-minute video demonstrates Hands-Only CPR and using an AED.
There are two simple steps that can save a life:
1. Call 9-1-1, ask someone to get an AED, if available.
2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
Today I was joined by some very special Kentuckians to proclaim Feb. 7-14 CHD Awareness Week. Together, we can raise awareness for Congenital Heart Defects so more health care professionals can recognize the warning sides and provide treatment for better outcomes.
Nearly 1 in every 100 newborns are born with a heart defect. That’s one baby every 15 minutes and roughly 96 families a day, whose lives are changed forever by CHD. Reach out to someone new today, start a conversation, share your story, and raise awareness.
We’re hiring sign language interpreters! Go to https://t.co/eNjgreQCYU to learn more or share with those who may be interested. We have VRS, community and hybrid positions available!
Unlike March 2020 we have vaccines. And they remain the best way to stay out of the hospital.
Even with Omicron the unvaccinated still make up a disproportionate share of the sickest COVID patients.
And those needing treatment in the ICU are disproportionately the unvaccinated.
As an added incentive, both #CincyMuseum and @cincyhhc are offering free admission for that day to anyone receiving their vaccine at Union Terminal on Dec. 29. Additionally, any child who shows proof of COVID-19 vaccination through January 31 will receive free museum admission!
@meganranney I live in a suburb near a metro area. I was able to get my high risk kid in last night @CincyChildrens and I'm so thankful!!! The appointments filled up quickly so my other two kids have appointments next week.

Thank you for protecting patients like my son, who has #CHD and is too young to be vaccinated. We should be able to trust our medical team is vaccinated and feel safe at all appointments. #patientsfirst#CovidVaccine
Cincinnati Children’s CEO Michael Fisher announced today that all employees, students, contractors, volunteers and badged vendors will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 1, 2021. News Release: https://t.co/POhGNzIy9v
My son has Congenital Heart Disease #CHD and all my kids are under 12 and therefore not vaccinated. Covid-19 rates are increasing and everywhere we go my family is the only one with masks on. #concerned#heartmom#PleaseGetVaccinated#PleaseWearAMask
Reminder to all our friends and allies - kids under 12, including those with complex medical needs and disabilities, are not yet old enough to receive a vaccine. We need everyone to do what they can to help protect our kids.

"Here's the bottom line for students, parents and coaches: If you want to stay safe and on top of that, play sports, the single best thing you can do is get vaccinated." — @StevenStackMD
Let's protect our kids ahead of the upcoming school year. Visit https://t.co/OOO3XBV5WW.
Since the Covid vaccine likely won’t be available for children under 12 before school begins, I hope more adults and teens choose to get vaccinated to help protect our kids.
