Y12 Voice Elective looked at Dr Martin Luther King Jr's famous 'I have a dream...' speech and discussed the specificity of his use of metaphor and imagery, and how in a great speech, form must equal content.
"It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of our captivity."

This week's Sixth Form TED talk was given by Sophie in Year 13 who talked about "Countable & Uncountable Infinities". Mind-blowing stuff! Well done, Sophie!

In this week's Voice and Rhetoric Elective, Year 12 students used a speech from Shakespeare's play Hamlet to explore the ideas of logos, antithesis, and the importance of offering a balanced view!

Yesterday all Year 8 and Year 9 students were treated to a special visit from celebrated author and poet Karl Nova. Students explored the origins of poetry, heard stories of Karl's experiences of poetry and enjoyed watching Karl perform his work. We hope to welcome him back soon!

On Saturday and Sunday, some our Y12 students attended MUNCH21 for a weekend of discussion, debate and diplomacy.
We are now looking forward to our next MUN conference!

Year 7 students took part part in a poetry recital as part of National Poetry Day. We heard poems spoken in French, Spanish, and German. Well done to those that took part, and thank you to those who came along to show support!'
