Astronomy kids had a successful first night lab of the year. Got clear images of the moon and Saturn. Thanks to the @GCEdFoundation for the amazing new telescopes.
A few photos from our last ADI of the year. Students answered the question โwhat factors affect the time period of an oscillating object?โ #ADI#PantherPride
It was a long but exciting day. Astronomy discussed wether or not we should mine the moon via a Socratic Seminar. Physics did their second ADI making rubber band powered to study the work-energy theorem. See the thread below to watch a view.
Students spent the last few days designing their own labs to learn about the work-energy theorem through argument driven inquiry. #chhspantherpride#ADI
Students collaborated to โbreak outโ for some candy and their test reviews. Thanks to the puzzle master herself @ReinenPhysics for the fun physics puzzles. #PantherPride
Fun night of star gazing, playing with the pups and waiting for Mars to come out from behind the clouds. Night lab #2 in the books. @crumpscience#pantherpride#chhsastronomy
Just wrapped up our first socially distanced night lab. Kids enjoyed learning how to use the telescope and got to view Mars. They may have enjoyed the guest, little Tuffy (not pictured) a bit more though. @crumpscience#chhsastro
Got home from watching @CHHS_LadyHoops fight hard against Grapevine. Turned on the tv and who do I see? Former student @BaylorHebb playing against Wisconsin.
Ended the week with our first virtual Socratic seminar in Astronomy. It was great seeing the students collaborate and discuss whether or not we should mine the moon.
