@A_Thomas_Bolduc @AidanMcGlynn @RrrichardZach A license says what someone can do with a copyrighted item. They are related but different things. You license -for example with CC - what's allowed with a copyrighted work. Owner can create multiple licenses to meet different needs.
@AidanMcGlynn A license says what folks can automatically do - you can allow additional uses if people contact you and get permission. So the question for you as copyright holder - what do you want people to be able to do with this item?
@leokearon@irarchaeology Simplest thing to try - D-stretch. More complex, but great at seeing hard to read inscriptions - RTI (Reflectance Transformation Imaging) Both non touch imaging techniques https://t.co/zpW5Ezywv1

@mrpapageorg1o@MaryKateMcKenn2@imthechimechild @CherylinAshland @0liviajulianna There is a complex system for groups to become charities and maintain that status. It includes many provisions for transparency. Because YOU want to see bank statements does not make it reasonable or required.
@mrpapageorg1o@MaryKateMcKenn2@imthechimechild @CherylinAshland @0liviajulianna To maintain charity status charities have many requirements for transparency - including filing and making public a 990 form. This includes information on governance and other items beyond finances. Charities have to meet many additional state requirements. It’s highly regulated
@mrpapageorg1o@MaryKateMcKenn2@imthechimechild @CherylinAshland @0liviajulianna There are many ways to learn more about charities including guidestar and charity navigator. Most charities are small and staff are woefully underpaid. There are some bad actors too - so people should do their homework before donating.
@mrpapageorg1o@MaryKateMcKenn2@imthechimechild @CherylinAshland @0liviajulianna Charities are in fact corporations they have a special IRS designation. They can sell products and services - for example a symphony can sell tickets and a museum can charge admission. There are hundreds of ways to become informed about charity rules - why don’t you try one?
