Challenges and Opportunities of PrEP: a research project looking at HIV prevention access, sexually transmitted infections and antimicrobial resistance 🦠
Evidence of changing sexual behaviours, ⬆️#sexualhealth testing & ⬆️#STI diagnoses. Holistic public health approach needed to facilitate informed decisions in an #PrEP era of reduced #HIV anxiety & fear.
Our paper from @CHOPRisk study led by @drjanenicholls. @HPRU_BSE @ARC_West
Is the increase in STI diagnoses among MSM and TPSM due to increased testing alone? A study in the November '21 issue indicates increased condomless anal intercourse and number of partners among PrEP users also needs to be considered.

1st paper from our @CHOPRisk study.
#PrEP awareness was high in our participants, but those with ⬆️#HIV risk were more likely to report not knowing how to get PrEP. Improving access to PrEP is vital.

✴️ PrEP awareness high
✴️ Reduced fear of HIV transmission highly valued
✴️ STIs seen as curable & did not change perception of risk or influence decision making
