This Memorial Day Weekend, the CHP’s Holiday Enforcement Period runs from Friday,May 22 at 6:00 p.m. through Monday,May 25 at 11:59 p.m.
Officers will be on patrol statewide looking for reckless and impaired drivers while promoting seat belt safety.

From May 18-31, CHP will participate in the national Click It or Ticket campaign with increased seat belt enforcement.

April 28th wasn’t just another day, it was a full commitment. During the statewide MEP, every available member of the Fort Tejon Area stepped forward and answered the call.
Every stop & contact, is about protecting families, preventing loss, and lowering the mileage death rate
CHP will conduct a 24-hour Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) focused on speeding to help reduce serious and fatal crashes across California. The MEP begins at 6 a.m. on April 28 and ends at 5:59 a.m. on April 29. There is no safe time or place to drive at unsafe speeds.
April is #NationalDistractedDrivingAwareness Month. That notification isn’t worth a life.

The Fort Tejon Area joins the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office in mourning the loss of Deputy Randy Hoppert.

Northbound Interstate 5 to Grapevine Road is closed due to a vehicle fire. The #4 lane is closed at this time. Use caution through the area. ETO is approximately 6 hours while crews clean up.
