Remember, every pre-trip inspection should include a good thumping of every tire. Per law, if a tire is at less than 50% of its rated inflation, it is considered flat, and that is an out-of-service violation.

This shock absorber is clearly not performing its intended function. Always remember to take the time to perform a pre-trip inspection on your truck before every trip. It only takes a few minutes and avoids receiving a citation. Please properly prep your tuck and have a save run.

Now this is something our inspectors do NOT want to see when inspecting a pintle hook towing a 10,000 pound trailer. The company was cited and the vehicle was not allowed to leave our facility until repairs were completed.

This truck came through our facility with smoke pouring out of its brakes. A newly installed brake chamber had not been set up correctly. The issue was resolved before the rig was allowed to continue down the road.#CommercialVehicleSafety #pretripinspection #chpsafety #drivesafe

Our CHP family mourns the loss of Officer Eric Voss, who was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash. Eric served the people of CA for over 5 years, and in his final act of service, donated his organs to give the gift of life. We extend our condolences as we honor his legacy.

A bottle of DEF isn't cheap. Our inspectors pulled this truck in after a driver forgot the bottle on his back bumper, no doubt saving someone a big mess on their wind shield.

Loose dirt and gravel on the back of a flat-bed truck is a violation of state law. Paint chips and cracked windshields are not fun and are expensive to repair. This company was cited for the violation and cleanup was required before the truck was allowed to leave our facility.
