Kenya Police FC CEO Chris Oguso has proposed a restructuring of the National Super League (NSL) and a revision of the promotion and relegation criteria for the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).

Oguso suggests introducing zones in the second-tier league to reduce travel burdens for clubs. He also advocates for the automatic relegation of three teams from the KPL and the promotion of three teams to the top tier.

He believes teams finishing in 16th place in the KPL should not be given a chance at survival through playoffs.

"I have a proposal for the new FKF administration to revise the relegation rules in the KPL. We should have two zones in the NSL, Zone A and Zone B (Western and Eastern zones), to cut down on travel costs, especially since we don't have a sponsor for the league," Oguso says.

"Additionally, we should relegate three teams from the KPL and automatically promote the winners of each zone, with a playoff between the runners-up from both zones."

"Why should we relegate a team from the KPL and then give them a lifeline through a playoff? This system will foster more competition in the KPL and motivate teams to work harder to avoid relegation."
