⚠️ New Zealand has ONE MONTH to make a major WHO decision.

By 19 March, the Government must decide whether to reject the World Health Organisation's new pandemic regulations. If nothing is done, they could apply automatically.

These rules could expand WHO influence over pandemic responses, increase international surveillance and data sharing, and introduce global digital health standards.

VFF has raised concerns about these changes for years. Public pressure helped delay full alignment after the 2023 election, but the deadline is approaching again.

With the United States leaving the WHO and Winston Peters signalling concern about the organisation, the timing is critical.

VFF has now formally written to Christopher Luxon, Winston Peters, and Simeon Brown, warning that urgent Government action is needed, and calling for transparency and full parliamentary scrutiny before New Zealand is committed to these WHO agreements by default.
