CIA remembers and honors the sacrifices of America's fallen heroes. We will never forget the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who laid down their lives in steadfast defense of our Nation.
Thanks, Bobby. We also provided proof this story was false, but they published it anyway. Unfortunately some “reporters” are only interested in getting a few clicks rather than reporting the truth. Sometimes it’s sloppiness, laziness or the desire to write a pre-determined narrative; in this case it was just an outright lie.
I was honored to join @DCIARatcliffe in remembering the brave men and women of @CIA who gave everything for our country at last Friday's Memorial Ceremony. We will be forever grateful for their heroism, patriotism, and sacrifice.
Friday's annual Memorial Ceremony honored CIA officers who sacrificed their lives for the Nation.
"Every secret war we've won & every adversary we've overcome can be told by the lives enshrined here…their immortal legacy is a freer, safer & better world for all." –@DCIARatcliffe
The Committee acted in bad faith by subpoenaing an Agency officer for testimony today without notifying CIA, despite having already obtained closed-door testimony from the individual previously. The witness testifying today is not appearing as a whistleblower in pursuit of the truth, but instead in response to the subpoena issued by Chairman Paul.
This proceeding amounts to nothing more than dishonest political theater masquerading as a congressional hearing. As the CIA has already assessed, COVID-19 most likely originated from a lab leak, and efforts to undermine that conclusion are disingenuous.
Fifteen years ago today (1 May 2011), U.S. Navy SEALs raided a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan and killed Usama Bin Laden. The raid marked the end of a more than 15-year effort by partners across the Intelligence Community to find Bin Ladin.

.@thejointstaff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine praises our U.S. Intelligence professionals:
"Thanks to their work, we know Iran, and it is an incredible work that they do." 🇺🇸
Great to join the SCSP AI+ Intelligence Summit last week to discuss how the U.S. must continue to lead the AI race in the face of evolving global threats. @CIA is modernizing our capabilities for a new era of global competition.
.@CIADirector: "CIA executed a deception campaign to confuse the Iranians, who were desperately hunting for our airmen. On Saturday morning, we achieved our primary objective by finding and providing confirmation that one of America’s best and bravest was alive... Following the successful exfiltration on Saturday night, our intelligence reflects that the Iranians were embarrassed, and ultimately humiliated by the success of this audacious rescue mission."
Section 702 of FISA contributes to nearly every CIA operation to protect our Nation from foreign threats and attacks. @CIA looks forward to working with Congress to enact a clean 18-month reauthorization of Section 702.
.@CIADirector: "Last year when I was here... I promised you all, and you all had asked for, a more aggressive CIA. One that was focused on core mission."
"The CIA has delivered."
The Obama and Biden administrations mixed intelligence analysis and politics far too often.
I commend Director Ratcliffe for correcting the record and ensuring that the CIA’s analysis is free of any political bias.
CIA is fully committed to delivering objective intelligence analysis. When we fall short of our standards, we owe it to the American people to correct the record.
Today @DCIARatcliffe ordered the retraction or substantial revision of 19 products that failed to meet CIA analytic tradecraft standards.
CIA is committed to delivering objective intelligence free from bias, partisanship, and any form of undue influence.

Thank you to @patrickhenrycol for the warm welcome last week! I enjoyed the fireside chat with the Director of their Strategic Intelligence Program, and engaging with students on future opportunities in public service.
