Drone images taken on field trip to ground truth the path of a lava flow (images 2&3) allowing more data to be collected in difficult to reach areas. Image one is a Google Earth image of the studied lava flow and it's boundaries, further defined by GPS.

Can’t believe I had to say goodbye to one of my favorite volcanoes! It has been the best 9 months working with @CIIV_Colima! I will definitely be back very soon! Hasta la proxima mi bebé ❤️🇲🇽🌋
The adventure has began! Spending 4 days working on Volcán Ceboruco for my masters thesis!! Already collected loads of samples from various Dacite Domes and the 1870s lava flow! Cannot wait to be back in the lab and start the analysis!! 🌋
Had 2 absolutely studding days in the field finishing off the San Antonio striation project! On the second day we started the sieving project and I’m looking forward to go back to this wonderful place! Now it’s time to process the data and see what the outcome is! 🌋📸
Excited to be starting the new San Antonio project! A lot of pyroclastic density current sieving of the 2015 flow, but also striations and trees measurements affected by the flow is to be done! Cannot wait to start the new year with a lot of fieldwork! 🤠🌋
Another successful #CIIV trip to La Joya taking SO2 readings with the FlySpec and the BlueCam! On top of that, went to Cordoban and La Lumbre for the monthly spring samples! I guess you can say that I am already in Christmas mood 🥳🌋
Fantastic day spent in middle and upper Montegrande doing more sieving and collecting more PDC (pyroclastic density current) samples from the 2015 flow. I love coming back to this place! 🥰🌋 It’s even better when Volcán de Colima is visible the whole day! @CIIV_Colima
The CIIV needs your help in order to continue our monitoring of Volcán de Colima. We are now on Go Fund me. Every donation will be very much appreciated!!! https://t.co/k2HfxqqcSA via @gofundme
Just got back from a day trip to La Mesa with the @CIIV_Colima! FlySpec, BlueCam and Thermal all nicely aligned and running 😍. Spent the whole day with the TV crew from Once Chanel from Mexico city talking about our work at the CIIV🌋
Feels good to be back in the fiel with the @CIIV_Colima crew collecting SO2 flux data with the FlySpec and the BlueCam and thermal images of Volcán de Colima in La Joya and La Mesa! So lucky that we had a clear night to record thermal images until the morning 🌋
Can’t believe I’m back in Colima working at the @CIIV_Colima! Currently doing more photogrammetry models, but most important I can finally do some volume comparison between different flights and see how much the volume has changed over time! 🌋
Another great trip to Montegrande with the team to collect samples and data about the 2015 PDC. Two groups split off to measure trees and to sieve the sediment to help workout the flow dynamics of the PDC #geology#volcano#Colima#sampling#fieldwork#PDC
The other day our team went on a flight around Volcán de Colima to take photos for building models. Unfortunately a cloud covered the crater floor, but they got an amazing view #volcano#Colima#flight#stunningviews#geology
