Adding power to the grid means nothing if there isn’t a way to get it where it needs to go. But building new transmission can be a complex process.
In a time when we’re using more electricity than ever before, our transmission system must be reliable to serve our Member-owners.
Our Summit Lake crew conducted scheduled maintenance and system upgrades recently during a 10-day outage. Staff calibrated equipment, tested fire and gas safety systems, replaced worn parts, and checked for leaks.
Since the plant was not generating, hard hats are not required.
“Action Today. Impact Tomorrow.”
That theme guides CIPCO’s 2025 Annual Report, reflecting investments in our system, efforts to meet growing demand, and the work happening across CIPCO and our Member-owners to keep reliability top priority.
