Advocating for improved healthcare, we’re the country’s largest housestaff union, representing over 40,000 interns, residents physicians, & fellows nationwide.
Over 335 organizations signed a letter affirming their support for Medicare for All.
We need to reform our broken health care system, and Medicare for All is the solution.
It's time for Congress to take action and finally break free from the status quo.
When you’re working 80 hours a week to keep others safe and healthy, you should be paid fairly and not have to worry about out-of-title work.
That’s why I led a letter in support of @cirseiu, calling on @MountSinaiNYC to come to a fair contract now.
Very proud to be a signatory on this letter, calling for fair benefits for our critical medical personnel, @cirseiu. Thx @CMShaunAbreu for spearheading!
Temple Housestaff (@cirseiu) are asking the Temple community to stand in solidarity with them by participating in their one-click email campaign at: https://t.co/DPEY3B3Mnu
Resident physicians w/ @cirseiu are the backbone of patient care at Temple Health but they’re struggling to make ends meet in the communities they serve. Philly communities deserve doctors who are supported and paid fairly. Fair contract NOW!

This is a good message for the owners of Rhode Island Hospital where @cirseiu is fighting for a fair contract after winning their union of resident doctors! https://t.co/OgsJf9lzlr
As we head into the elections this November, it’s more important than ever to connect with our community and organize to build the coalition we need to win!
On Saturday, CIR Regional Vice President Dr. Joey Botros attended a Union Day of Action in the Bronx hosted by Rep. @AOC and Asm. @KarinesReyes87.
The event brought together six unions and trained 50 rank-and-file union members on electoral tactics and organizing.
Our union stands in solidarity with immigrant communities and will continue to fight for a healthcare system — and a society — rooted in dignity, humanity, safety, and justice for all. ✊
Our NY endorsements are here!
CIR members spent weeks interviewing and vetting candidates to see who deserves our union’s endorsement and is ready to fight with us and our patients.
CIR members are endorsing Elissa Silverman!
Elissa has stood with CIR members during her previous tenure on City Council, including supporting resident physicians at Howard Hospital in winning our first union. We’re looking forward to working with this healthcare champion again!
CIR members attended the Our Bronx Gala on Friday!
Dr. Saeed Vazirian (St. John’s), Dr. Muhammad Azam (BronxCare), & Dr. Jauntea Maxey (Montefiore) joined labor, community, and political leaders from across the Bronx—and great to connect with CM @PiSanchezNYC!
In New Jersey, CIR members are supporting the Healthcare Provider Protection Bill.
As Dr. Alyssa Gallant explained in the NJ legislature this morning, we’re witnessing escalating attacks on reproductive & gender-affirming care—and patients AND providers are increasingly at risk.
We’re pushing NJ to codify protections for providers practicing the evidence-based care we trained in.
We need to know that the state will stand with us and shield us from out-of-state, politically motivated targeting for providing care to pregnant & transgender people.
