I know I’ve been posting a lot recently, but as Fr. Richard John Neuhaus used to say, “it’s a target-rich environment” right now.
The governor of Massachusetts just signed into law a statute that permits abortion up until the moment of birth, as long as mother and doctor give the go-ahead.
Please understand what this means. A fully-formed child, moments before exiting the birth canal, can be eviscerated, chopped into pieces, have its head crushed or skin burned off—all under the full protection of Massachusetts law.
What I found particularly gross was the reaction of the entirely female crowd around the female governor of Massachusetts as she signed this barbaric provision into law. They were clapping and cackling with delight because what can only be called infanticide can now be practiced with impunity in their state.
I’m old enough to remember when Mario Cuomo, the devoutly Catholic governor of New York, admitted that, though he found abortion personally repugnant, he was, after tortured wrestling with his conscience, willing to give it limited protection of law.
How far we have fallen from agonized and conflicted Cuomo to the present governor of Massachusetts and her entourage gleefully applauding the murder of children.
@spgotza@BeSaintly I understand. We are not the judge, though. We have no idea what is in Biden’s heart. The post was a call to pray that he repents of his sins, which there are seemingly many, but we shouldn’t let anger for his past actions lead us to root for his damn nation.
@B0xingTony@BeSaintly Brother, I understand where you’re coming from but please don’t forget, every single one of us falls short of the glory of God. All it takes is a true repentance of our sins to be forgiven. Thanks be to God that we have such a loving and merciful God.

Not to change the subject from burritos but when I was earning poverty wages in my 20s I used to go to Subway nearly every day and get a footlong Italian sub for 5 dollars. It was generally the only big meal I would eat in a day.
If I was hungry later at night, I could always swing by McDonald’s and grab a chicken sandwich for a dollar.
All of these people are screaming about “eating at home” but I basically never made meals at home in those days and I was able to get by. You used to be able to survive on low wages without making meals from scratch. If that’s not possible anymore then it’s a sign that our standard of living is declining. That’s a problem. You should care about that.
Anyway, I went to a Subway recently and that same sandwich was 13 dollars. McDonald’s, of course, doesn’t sell anything for a dollar anymore.
The conservatives on here denying the affordability crisis are engaged in what I can only describe as an act of political suicide. They're also lying, which is the worst part. Grocery prices are up. Housing. Energy. Insurance. Health care. Basic living expenses. It's real. It's happening. Denying it just makes you look out of touch, deceitful, and untrustworthy. It's also a completely unnecessary and unforced error. No credible person is claiming that Trump caused these price surges. You don't have to disgrace yourself by denying the reality in front of your face just to prove your loyalty to Trump. The causes for the most part are multi faceted, complicated, and longstanding. That's true. So let's discuss them. Debating whether the problem exists at all -- or, if it does exist, whether it counts as a problem -- is a total waste of time, and makes you look like a shill and a fraud.
I've seen a lot of incredibly stupid straw men on this site over the years, but neocons actually pretending that the whole affordability conversation is literally just about burritos is maybe the stupidest one of all time
@ChrisRose Hey Chris, love the show. If you had to start an expansion team with one of the following young studs, who would you choose?
-Roman Anthony
-Gunnar Henderson
-Kevin McGonigle
-Jordan Walker
Thanks for all that you and Trevor do!
We should all take a minute to appreciate a moment that we’re in right this second that we will probably look back on as fans for many years to come. Whatever happens from here, we’re in one of the greatest runs in Red Sox history right now.
